The message of fear and lies being spread by the Civil Service Association is deadly and decides for those of us watching that these persons are not ones that TCIslanders should trust with their future.  

The message spread on the streets is that public officers will be “fired”, released, that there would no choice and many of these persons would have no way out of their mortgages.  This is the private message of the Civil Service Association.  Publicly they turn a non –issue into a pettier issue and suggest that the Interim Government failed to “extend the deadline for expression of interest in the voluntary severance scheme for all civil servants”.   This reality is very different from the lies being spread and denies that the lie that Civil Servants will be fired.  The Fact is that Civil Servants will not be fired and all public officers will be given a choice whether to stay in Government and or to try and find a job in the private sector.  But this “choice” is not being explained to the Public and persons are being led astray by these would be leaders.  In order to gain ‘credibility’ or a ‘political foothold’ these misleaders decide to act as spin doctors and misrepresent the truth.   But they are mostly in league with the former PNP Dictatorial Regime.

Next the Civil Service Association is also spreading the myth that it is the Interim Government that is not providing the “gratuity for persons employed locally after April 5, 1992.”  What they do not say and what they do not admit is that their PNP Government made this law in 1992 and changed the pension benefits for the public working in the Civil Service.  Again they are misleading and showing a veiled solidarity and ‘oneness’ with the result of the PNP regime and what that regime has done to destroy these islands. Not one of you minds, not one of you are pointing the right finger.  We got here in these mess because of them, the PNP, the British are here because of them.  Go after the PNP, they are the Problem, the biggest problem, the cause, the reason and they are the fact that the British are here.

Thirdly they are misleading by suggesting that the Interim Government cut salaries in an ‘unauthorized ‘way by 10%. Salary cuts are bad and ought not be justified in any way.   In fact any salary cut is wrong but they would not admit that the monies taken from the country by their leaders, the former ministers and the leadership of the CSA is the real reason why these cuts were made.  There is no pressure from the CSA to pressure their colleagues, i.e. the former ministers of the PNP Regime to return the monies back to the Treasury so that the interim government could be pressured into restoring the salary cuts and to reduce these horrendous taxes that were really caused by the former PNP dictatorial regime.

The cuts in scholarships again were announced by Floyd hall and Galmo Williams in 2008 when the deficit was reaching $74 Million and they told the public that students would be asked to pay 50% of their scholarships and the rest would have to borrow.

The problem is that 1000% of the problems that the Country is facing is being caused by the former PNP Regime.

1.       They are the reason for the decline in the TCI Economy

2.       They are the one and only reason for the Interim Government,  the need to suspend the Constitution, the need for the British to come into the TCI,  the need to have a commission of enquiry, the need to arrest former ministers

3.       The PNP Regime and their silly ministers are the reason for the increases in taxes.

4.       They are the reason this country is suffering at a time when it does not have to.

It is quite clear that the leaders of the CSA are playing a deadly and dishonest game of politics.  Where is the attack on the former Government of Michael Misick, Floyd hall, Galmo Williams, Piper Hanchell, Jeffrey Hall etc, for the way they have destroyed the TCI.  Where is the demand of accountability from the CSA to insist that the former ministers return the Monies they have stolen from the people and to have these monies returned to the Treasury?  Why are you so called leaders of the CSA, rather misleaders, not pointing the finger at the former PNP dictatorial regime for the problems the people are facing? Are you in league with them, are you working with them,  did you not organize and march with them previously? Are they your associates?  Where is the rub.   Why are you not demonstrating against them? Why are you saying the same things that they are saying?

The British are making decisions that most people cannot support.  However, it is the leaders of the CSA and the former PNP regime who are the source and cause of these problems.  When will someone go downtown and lead a demonstration against the Leadership of the former PNP regime, demand that they account to the people of the TCI for the deals and thefts they have committed against the people of the TCI.

One estimate is that $5 Billion in lands, monies from the Treasury, unpaid taxes cannot be accounted for by the former regime.  Even if it’s only $100 Million, and all of that can be returned to the Treasury by taking these monies back from former ministers, there would be no increase in taxes, there would be no interim Government, and there would not have been a Commission of Enquiry or Helen Garlick.  In fact the PNP regime may have still been in Power, God help us, the CSA would still be dormant and quiet, whilst the PNP Regime would be  paying Butlers $42, 000 a year at the Premier’s mansion and High School Principals would be left with $37,000.  

So the PNP are out of office, the interim government is in, the sympathizers of the former regime are now leading the CSA because they have an axe to grind but they are not real.  The CSA must now lead a demonstration against the former PNP Regime; publicly demand a return to the Treasury of all the public funds they have taken, so that there could be an immediate reduction in taxes and a return of the 10% salary cuts.
